| How to get HP Laser MFP 135w to work under Linux Lite 6.0 |

Hi all,
The HP Laser MFP 135w printer/scanner appears to be tricky to get to work under Linux since it is not supported by HPLIP, despite being manufactured by HP (well, who knows really). After some googling and trying I managed to get it to work and it is actually pretty straightforward. I thought I'd share my experience, maybe this is useful for others with the same or similar models. I am running Linux Lite 6.0.
1) download the printer driver from here: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/sel...l/24494382. Initially the page may state that 'We were unable to find drivers for your product.' Click on 'Choose a different OS', select 'Linux' as operating system, and 'Ubuntu' as version. You can then download the driver.
2) extract the driver archive in a temporary folder. This gives a folder named 'uld' with several subfolders and 6 shell scripts.
3) as root (sudo) run the install-printer.sh script and then the install-scanner.sh script (default options throughtout)
4) from the Lite menu open the 'Configure Printers' app and select 'Add' to add a new printer
5) after a few seconds your printer should show up automatically under the Network printer list (make sure the printer is turned on). I selected the top entry that said:
HP Laser MFP 131 133 135-138 (192.168.86.28)
6) Click forward and let the program search for drivers - it will not find any
7) Under 'Choose Driver' select 'Provide PPD file'
8| Browse to /usr/share/ppd/uld-hp and open the file HP_Laser_MFP_13x_Series.ppd (this file was created when installing the drivers under step 3)
9) Click Forward, and rename your printer if necessary
10) Print a test page
The Document Scanner program that comes default with Linux Lite 6.0 worked out of the box after this. It may take a few seconds for your compouter to find the scanner on your network.
Good luck/Evert

| UEFI boot with LL 6.0 |

I installed LL 6.0 on an old machine via DVD. Apparently this mobo uses UEFI which I haven't used before.
After the install was done, booting the machine doesn't automatically start LL. It just stops with a blinking cursor. No other OS on the machine.
If I press F11 at boot for the boot menu, it doesn't show the grub menu I am used to but there is an option to boot Ubuntu. If I select this, then LL will boot ok.
So my questions are why doesn't LL start automatically and how can I get the grub menu to display automatically at boot with this UEFI stuff?

| Abnormal operation once booted |

I'm running the latest LL OS always updated. Dell laptop has been running this OSs for several years now no real issues.
Today I booted the lap top up and noted that the home page is displaying some abnormal operations I'm not doing/requesting.
1. The mouse is jumping all over the screen or disappears all together.
2. The Battery Power Manager keeps showing up several times in a minute showing battery run times from normal to 6 moths run time.
3. A pop-up menu as if I clicked the home screen keeps popping up and going away by itself
4. Work spaces will cycle back and forth between each other.
5. If I go to the main lower left menu and try to open it it will not open. if it does open after several minutes of trying and I go to shut down, the laptop will not shut down instantly. It will take several minutes to recognize the command and then shut down.
6. The BIOS screens mouse is also abnormal in operation. It jumps all over the screen or goes away all together. I cannot get to the system info to post the version of LL.
I'm not sure if this is a LL software clinch or my laptop mouse pad has died? It was working normally last night and now no matter if I shut down and pull the battery for several minutes, the same problem is present.
I am not a computer expert by any means, but would like help with this problem please.

I need to install wine-mono for some old 32bit app, and I have several different ubuntu versions APP's available. (since there is nothing available in synaptic)
I read throug new release announcement https://dfgkh547-jsdfv8.iyhkj.tk/forums/relea...-released/, I read review on dostrowatch... then I decide to just rather ask. New in ubuntu world, all this is new to me.
Here is the link where are different APP's:
https://www.mono-project.com/download/st...wnload-lin
I probably need to install for: Ubuntu 20.04 (amd64, armhf, arm64, ppc64el) But I would rather ask first, before risking to damage my install.
Thank you
Edit: Never mind, need 32bit mono, which is depreciated looks like.

I have a 32 bit Linux Lite operating system installed 3.8 version in a very old HP Mini laptop computer.
I would like to find an equivalent of the Linux Mint Psensor, for monitoring the CPU temps et. al.
Is there one available?
Jim.
