I need to install wine-mono for some old 32bit app, and I have several different ubuntu versions APP's available. (since there is nothing available in synaptic)
I read throug new release announcement https://dfgkh547-jsdfv8.iyhkj.tk/forums/relea...-released/, I read review on dostrowatch... then I decide to just rather ask. New in ubuntu world, all this is new to me.
Here is the link where are different APP's:
https://www.mono-project.com/download/st...wnload-lin
I probably need to install for: Ubuntu 20.04 (amd64, armhf, arm64, ppc64el) But I would rather ask first, before risking to damage my install.
Thank you
Edit: Never mind, need 32bit mono, which is depreciated looks like.

I have a 32 bit Linux Lite operating system installed 3.8 version in a very old HP Mini laptop computer.
I would like to find an equivalent of the Linux Mint Psensor, for monitoring the CPU temps et. al.
Is there one available?
Jim.

Hi
my first time posting
so this is what i have observed
in the first hr of use, i have plugged in and out multiple HDD/thumbdrives (by the normal mounting + unmounting rituals).
then i noticed 1 of the 2 HDD disappeared from the thunar left hand panel
i didnt think it is a biggie maybe a loose port?
after i rebooted, the 2 HDD n 2 other thumbdrives are there as usual
then after i added the 2 HDD to places as shortcut, they both disappeared
under media/user folder the 2 drives are still present
so it is still in "system" and not "undocked"
i could add remove it as shortcut, but it no longer appears as a "drive" (disappears from devices)
it appears as 2 drives when i freshly reboot the system.
the 2 thumbdrives appear as "xxxx-xxxx" labels in the media/user folder
i was wondering, does it have anything to do with me renaming the drives as "10000" and "22222"?
(*edit : most * = latest comment)
****** i use filefreesync and it sees the 2 HDD, and could sync the files between it.
******* aha, so i close all the thunar instances and reopen a fresh 1, the 2 HDD reappears under devices. but the 2 no longer have the "undock" button which it used to have. the thumbdrives still have the "undock" button.
does this count as a bug?
cheers
**and btw guys, great job with linux lite.
***i just need a net monitor and a cpu temp in the panel now.
**** and virtualbox works great ! faster than mint i would say.

I have a new Linux Lite installation on an old Dell desktop computer.
I bought a WiFi dongle that appears to be meant for Windows and Mac.
Is there drivers available for using a generic USB WiFi dongle for this operating system?
I will attach a copy of the terminal result from inxi -FN
I could not find a button to select Code: like I can in Linux Mint.
Apologies for the that.
Any assistance will be most welcome.
Jim.

| Error Installing qemu-guest-agent in KVM guest |

Dear All
Following was error message:
sudo systemctl enable qemu-guest-agent
Synchronizing state of qemu-guest-agent.service with SysV service script with /lib/systemd/systemd-sysv-install.
Executing: /lib/systemd/systemd-sysv-install enable qemu-guest-agent
The unit files have no installation config (WantedBy=, RequiredBy=, Also=,
Alias= settings in the [Install] section, and DefaultInstance= for template
units). This means they are not meant to be enabled using systemctl.
Possible reasons for having this kind of units are:
• A unit may be statically enabled by being symlinked from another unit's
.wants/ or .requires/ directory.
• A unit's purpose may be to act as a helper for some other unit which has
a requirement dependency on it.
• A unit may be started when needed via activation (socket, path, timer,
D-Bus, udev, scripted systemctl call, ...).
• In case of template units, the unit is meant to be enabled with some
instance name specified.
Any workaround?

Hello!
Please be gentle, it is my first time :002:
Tidying up the garage came across this forgotten notebook: Intel Atom, W7 Starter... the lot. I have not used it since 2017 if I remember correctly, and trying to update it gave me this error:
============ Log ===========
E: Could not get lock /var/lib/dpkg/lock-frontend. It is held by process 4663 (apt-get)
E: Unable to acquire the dpkg frontend lock (/var/lib/dpkg/lock-frontend), is another process using it?
This was meant to be my introduction to the amazing world of Linux, but a man must admit his limitations. Any help is welcome, thanks.

I have just loaded an older computer with Linux Lite. As a long term user of Linux Mint, and a reluctant occasional user of Microsoft Windoze 7 &10, I must say I am greatly impressed.
Well done to the developers; I will make a donation this morning.
I specifically like the ordered arrangement of the desktop and the ease of finding anything needed, very quickly.
This is in contrast with the incredibly untidy Win10 which I inherited on a old machine. I had a frustrating time trying to find my way around it. And I stress the "trying" bit!
Thanks to the developers. I will install this on my second home desktop as well.
Jim.
