I read about Linux Lite in a magazine and decided to try it. I downloaded the 32-bit ISO file and installed it in Virtual Box which all worked very well.
I was looking for a new distro for my Asus EeePC which is a few years old now, but works well. It was running another distro which was getting outdated.
I put Linux Lite 2.0 onto a USB drive using Unetbootin and booted the EeePC from the USB drive.
It booted into live mode with no problems, and I set about doing an install, just the same as I had done previously on my desktop PC in Virtual Box.
It allowed me to choose partitions for / and /home okay, and I chose to encrypt my home folder, and started to install. But when it got as far as Creating User, it just freezes. I tried restarting the install and got the same result.
When I clicked on the "Creating User..." text it gave some CLI output text, the last bit is as follows:

Wanted to say after just a few hours trying out LL2 I was pleasantly surprised when I was able to browse to my NAS (it showed in Workgroup) and was able to instantly gain access ... something I had no luck with with LL1x

Since installing Linux lite the numeric pad has acted only as a mouse pointer. I have a HP keyboard on my Dell 4550, but the HP keyboard model number: KB-0630 is not listed the Settings/Keyboard/Keyboard model. It makes no difference if the Number Lock is on or off the number pad will not type a number, it will only use the arrow keys to move the cursor. Please help me to find the settings to change my numeric pad into a true numeric pad.

Is it possible to set Preferred application - Email Reader to Web based Email client -- Gmail or Yahoo etc

Just curious if it's possible to remove the shading of the name text of everything on the desktop unless it's selected?
And if it's possible to not use the grid for icon alignment but put them where I want?

Using LL 2.0 with PCManFM 1.2.0 instead of Thunar.

I do apologise if this has been covered on the forum, I can't find it if it has.

I'm using LL2 day2day now and I'm very happy with it.  8)
But tiny question: why do after boot some icons on the desktop jump to left upper?
Or: can I do something to prevend it?

I see tutorials around showing how to setup Minecraft on LL1, would like to do so on LL2, the LL1 tutorials do not seem to relate to LL2, nor can I find the software mentioned on Ubuntu forums that is being used on Ubuntu in the Synaptics list, can anyone post a tutorial please?

Wish to test LL2.0 + new  trial Kernel on PCs already running other versions of linux.  Once tested wish, to remove the LL2.0 & trial Kernel and return pcs to single boot,  restoring original partition sizes and  running original version of linux.  Questions :-
Can this be done?
If so how ? using Gparted??
