I've been hit by malware (partner18mydomainadvisor), which has prompted me to check if the firewall is switched on, but after a search on LL2 I was unable to find it.  Where is it and how can I switch it on and it will stay on upon reboot.

My LL 2.0 has just been hit by the parner18.mydomainadvisor malware.  I have Firefox as web-browser and Google as search engine.
This is despite having ESET antivirus for Linux (paid subscription) on my laptop, as well as being up-to-date with all my LL2 updates.
It has already attacked my wife's Windows 8 on her computing and appears to be doing odd things to our mailbox.

Help !!!
What can I do?  I have seen some websites declaring that you can download their software to remove partner18, but how do I know they are genuine and not malicious?

In your experience,  what is the best application for downloading & playing podcasts on LL2?

I have tried both 'Rhythmbox' and 'Clementine 1.2.3.', and have heard of 'Banshee' but haven't tried it.

Clementine is superb: I love the way it lists all the RSS feeds to choose from on the the BBC, and you just click on the ones that interest you and Clementine downloads them.  It is less straightforward with Rhythmbox, where you need to copy and past the URL of the RSS of interest into the application.  In my view, the preset volume range for Rhythmbox is much better calibrated, being similar to the sound levels that most Youtube videos (which I watch a lot) run at. 

In contrast, Clementine runs very quietly both on LL2 and on two other distros that I tried it on - I had to turn the sound levels right up to near maximum to hear it at a comfortably audible level.  And there's the problem...  one time that I did this, I forgot to turn the sound levels back down when I went back to watching Youtube videos, and consequently my laptop speakers got blasted.  The result is that the speakers got damaged, to the extent that I am unable to enjoy listening to music on my laptop's speakers.

I am interested to hear any views/comments/recommendations based on your own experiences with podcasts.

Goodbye XP!!

Loving LL2.0 so far on am old Latitude laptop, the XP drive has not been back in the drive bay since I gave LL "a try" a few weeks ago!

Looking forward to a new HTPC build which will use the 64 bit version.  Hardware pieces on the way to me in the mail.  AMD A6-6400 and ASRock FM2A88M motherboard, can't wait!

Also been fiddling with Raspberry Pi B+ and various media centers recently.

Hope to get involved with the community.

Hi, just a question when does the support stop for v1.0.6? Does that mean when I click install updates nothing will happen when the time comes ? I love 1.0.6 I find that version is perfect for my netbook.

I installed linux lite for my dad a couple of weeks ago and first all went nice and he could access the mybook live NAS without problems, but now when in go to /workgroup/NASdrive/, the next folder is "linuxliteshare" and not what really is the next folder. it also asks a password wich i dont have and i dont need when i access the drive with my manjaro installation. I am baffled, please help.

I want to install Teamviewer on my PC & Daughters laptop,
I have installed LL 32bit on my daughters, and I'm on LL 64 bit.
((I'm trying to get her off XP, and I could remote support her when she's away.))

On the Teamviewer download page there is 64Bit with, and without MultiArch
Which do I take for LL 64 bit, both have 64 bit variant.

On a second laptop, I have LL 2.0 dual-booted with another distro (also ubuntu-based),
which I would like to remove, so that I only have LL 2.0 remaining on that computer
as my OS of choice.

I know that I need to do this properly, as merely deleting the distro's partition in Gparted
could mess up the grub screen spectacularly, and the computer generally.

I assume the procedure would be the same if I had any number of distros multi-booted
up to the maximum permissible number of 4 on any hard disk drive.

Grateful for any guidance on how to go about this.
