Hi All,
With Lite 1.0.8 I was given the following instructions to make a guest account the default login.
Go to “Menu”. Then “Run Program” at top of menu
Type the word Thunar, then click “Run”
In left window click on “File System”
Then double click “etc”, find the “lightdm” folder, right-click it to “Open as
Administrator”. Enter the password. Find the “lightdm.conf” file and
Open with “leafpad”.
Find the line :
“autologin-user=linux” and replace with “userid” (don’t include the quotes)
Do a File Save, then File – Quit.
Close all remaining windows.
THIS IS NO LONGER AN OPTION TO SET BY THIS METHOD.
In Lite 2.2, how do we do the same thing? ???

Horrible game performance while Steam is running.

Hello,
I found out Steam is eating my game's performance, a lot! For example the mentioned Warzone 2100, downloaded from Ubuntu repositories. I don't even run this game from the non-steam library, I'm just starting it normally through whisker menu and Steam is running in the background. I have a low FPS while Steam is running, EVEN IF STEAM STAYS AT LOGIN SCREEN MINIMIZED! If I shutdown Steam completely, FPS is back to normal. What is this? I can run many apps on the desktop and background, web browser playing videos on youtube, which eats a lot of CPU, and yet I get full speed. Only Steam is acting stupid (I even looked in the task manager, there's not any suspicious CPU usage by Steam).
I'm using the free GPU drivers, proprietary drivers ain't available to me. I don't think drivers are the issue though, since only Steam is doing this.
My CPU is Intel Core 2 Duo 1.6GHZ, GPU is ATI Mobility Radeon X2300 256MB, 2GB RAM.
Please note I even tried SwatX, Oibaf and xorg edgers PPAs, no change.
Newest CPU microcode is installed.
Funny is, like I said, it happens when Steam sits on the login screen too, which shouldn't really eat anything.
I have running Skype, FireFox etc in the background, yet no slowdown.
Did anyone experience this with ther free GPU drivers and low-lower end PC/laptop?
Note I already asked for help on the Steam forums, but I was immediately attacked and named troll by the immature Steam community.

Suggestion: Black theme on forum

I was looking at the themes for this forum and I notice there wasn't an all black theme. I think it would be a nice feature to add to the forum, to add an option for an all black theme with grey text font (or something similar.)
I prefer an all black theme on all the sites I go to, it's easier on the eyes and in my opinion it looks more slick and nicer looking.
I think it would be a nice feature, if it's possible and it isn't to much trouble.

At the end of the linux lite install I got this error.
unable to install GRUB in /dev/mmcblko”
Out of the three choices I chose to install without bootloader. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I am searching the forum but can't quite find the info I need. can the boot loader be manually installed or repaired?
Computer is an Intel NUC Board DE3815TYBE with a 1.46 GHz Atom processor E3815. OS install from a dvd

[SOLVED] Everything locked in thumb drive??

I have a thumb drive that I've been using (successfully) for about a year. I've always had read/write permissions and could obviously delete anything I wanted. As of this morning, everything has become locked. I am unable to delete ANYTHING. I haven't done anything different with the thumb drive or with LL (2.2, if it matters). It won't let me change the permissions, either. I can't even edit and save any documents (for example, I have my job resume on the drive).
Any suggestions? I use this daily and I need to be able to delete old files from it.
