Linux Lite does not see my wi-fi. Slitaz, Watt os, Knoppix everything else does.

I am ready to use Lite as my default system but it will not see my wi-fi. I have installed all up-dates using my wired connection but this will not do for regular use. I have searched for a solution and found none. I cannot waste endless time on this mystery so hopefully someone can at least suggest something. I repeat Every other Linux distro works seamlessly as does XP on both my desktop and laptop but Lite will have neither. Needs a better Guru than me.

Gestures on Elantech Smart-Pad

Hi!
I was wondering if there is software or any other way to give me not only more gestures options using touchpad, but also give me more options to customize it, by setting up speed and sensitivity.
I have Elantech touchpad(Smart-Pad), that support multi-touch, and on windows I could set up simple gestures based on not only direction but also number of fingers and even pressure.
And I dont need fancy gestures like pinch or drawing, I need more control over sensitivity of swiping up/down left/right and if its possible settings for number of fingers(two finger scroll, three middle click etc)
Standard options in LL are good, it support two-finger scrolling from the start but it lack of more advanced options like sensitivity of every gesture and finger clicks. For now scrolling left-right is more like hit and miss between scrolling up/down or moving page 100 light years to the left or right. And beside that I really miss shortcuts for 3-fingers actions...
I was searching on google for elantech linux support or any multitouch support but most of those are about simple two-finger scrolling fix, but that LL recognize from the start...
Also I tried touchegg app but it doesnt even build GIU that it have (and setting up it from console is beyond me or its just impossible)

How to enable Numlock on login screen

Press Ctrl+Alt+T to open Terminal
First you need to install the package numlockx. Type in:
Code: sudo apt-get install numlockx
Then you need to change /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf file
Two ways to do it:
1. Run this command:
Code: sudo sh -c "printf '\ngreeter-setup-script=/usr/bin/numlockx on' >> /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf"
It will add this line greeter-setup-script=/usr/bin/numlockx on at the end of the file.
2. Open /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf file with superuser privileges
Code: sudo leafpad /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf
then add this line to the end of the /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf file
Code: greeter-setup-script=/usr/bin/numlockx on
Additional info:
greeter-setup-script=/usr/bin/numlockx off
will disable Numlock on login screen
Code: sudo leafpad /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf

Hi,
I have tried again to install the latest 32 bit linux lite on my ESXi dual Xeon.
Configuration is simple: 1 processor-2 cores; 2GB of memorym,9 MB of graphic ram, 32GB Lazy Zeroed HArd Disk Image, E1000 Net Card.
Previously I have selected a net with no external access, now the net has proper external acces and DHCP
I install as follow:
Install and erase disk (auto partitioning)
Language Italian
KeyBoard Italian
Password: YES
Autologin
Auto Load Updates
Install 3rd party utilities
Linux Lite install and reboot but it does not go to the desktop. The boot screen stops when the screen bar is fully loaded and does not do anything else.
Also, I have encountered the following problem: if I ask to cypher the virtual disk the LMI boot loader does not install and the disk becomes "unaccessible".
Regards,
Giuseppe Chillemi

Will Linux Lite work on non-PAE (old Pentium M) System?

1) If the target is a dell d600 , non PAE system with pentium M, is the
32 bit disto ok for this system? (linux mint 17.1 32 bit is really not stable
for its support for non PAE systems- I tried it)
AND,
2) The .iso file is 772MB but my cd/R capacity is only 727 mb. Is there another way
to make the .iso then other than sending for one in the mail?

Hello fellow Linux Liters
I'm doing my best to get the message out to my friends and family just how good LL is - they all share the same problems concerning Windoze, namely slow, sluggish etc and want to do something about it but are not prepared to take that leap of faith. The one question I'm often asked is what anti-virus software, malware etc is available and I tell them it's not needed. They look at me incredulously but the problem is I can't elaborate on my response. Just what can I tell them? Is it because Linux is not targeted as it's market share is tiny compared to Windows & Mac? Or is there something else I can sell them?
Another question, am I able to check out all my postings in one place on the forum?
Looking forward to LL 2.4 - keep up the great work.
