New to LL Forum but not to Linux...

Hello, I am new to the forum, but not to Linux. That said, I'm no Linux Geek at this point. The computer I am typing this on is an HP Slimline 270 with i5-7400 CPU, 8 GB ddr4 RAM and an HP 250 Gb NVMe drive & Intel 930 graphics (I think). As I type, the machine is running on Zorin 16 RC1 and the drive is shared with Manjaro Plasma.
Besides this machine, I have another DT computer with Peppermint 10 installed and Linux Mint 20.
I'm not a stranger to LL as I had 5.2 running on my wife's notebook (it later went belly up on me due to a failed repair operation). I rather enjoyed using LL on that machine over W10. Never had any problems at all.
Anyway, I've run 5.4 from the live USB I have it installed on.
Any projection on the release date for 5.6?

Linux Lite - Pay What You Can

This is a road I'd never thought I'd go down, but we have no choice. Either we stagnate and accept the big G's ever changing algorithms, or we boldly go where others have dared.
I'm talking about the 'Pay What You Can' digital download model that has worked, and is working on other projects.
3rd, and most important line in this thread...Linux Lite will always be free.
I've looked at revenue projections from other Media partners based on our unique and impression stats and they don't even come close to what Google offers so that unfortunately, is not an option.
This system is Live now and is on trial for an unspecified time. If it works, we'll leave it running, if it doesn't work, it will be axed.
Wherever you see this...
![[Image: WEe80k5.png]](https://i.imgur.com/WEe80k5.png)
and you think...OMG, I have to pay for Linux Lite now....NO you do not. Simply input 0 into the Custom box or click the $0 amount and then you will get a Download link. End of heart attack.
![[Image: 2Lj0Bai.png]](https://i.imgur.com/2Lj0Bai.png)
So why the big scary change?
For a while now, it seems we've reached a peak point in earnings. The 'bar' has not moved for nearly a year now. That's long enough for one to react and seek out alternative means of income to get us to the ultimate goal...where I can quit my full time day job and work exclusively on Linux Lite. Imagine that, 8hrs a day dedicated purely to Linux Lite (oh I wish!).
Microsoft Windows 10 as of today will cost you $139 for Home and $199 for Pro from the MS website (19/08/21)
![[Image: vMWQj2V.png]](https://i.imgur.com/vMWQj2V.png)
So what do you get for your hard earned $139?
![[Image: djjp6SV.png]](https://i.imgur.com/djjp6SV.png)
So what are they boasting that you get...
# Fast start up - linux has that covered
# Windows Mixed Reality - I don't know anyone that uses this
# My People - I don't know anyone that uses this
# Windows Ink - I don't know anyone that uses this
# 4K gaming - linux has that covered
# Paint 3D - lol, that is all
# A reimagined Photos app - linux has that covered
# Microsoft Edge - linux has that covered, thanks Satya
What else are they promoting on the reasons to Buy Windows page...
Safer and more secure - only when the power is off and Wake on Lan is disabled (but then there's physical access).
More creative, more productive - Gimp, Darktable, Inkscape and more productive? Thousands of programmers who use their favorite IDE would strongly disagree.
Powerful, modern devices - 11th Gen Intel CPU? Latest nVidia GPU, linux has that covered.
Conclusion
Pay nothing or even 50c for Linux Lite and get arguably a more secure, more productive and able to work on modern machines OS solution, or pay $139 to MS for a less secure operating system that you can't make copies of and share with others.

color background gradient selector quit working

I get to ask something for a change. After the last update my ability to select a vertical gradient with two colors for a desktop background quit working. It only shows one color now. I'm using it correctly but I'm wondering if it has become deprecated feature. Worked fine since 5.x was released. I realize I can create an image and screenshot it and use it as a backdrop entry but I'm wondering (not complaining) why the color gradient feature stopped working.

Listen to Music on the Radio

Music has been a part of our lives for so many years and it's only natural that we want to hear as much of it as possible. In today's world, we can't deny the fact that most radio luisteren stations are constantly playing music and advertising songs that can be found everywhere. This is one of the main reasons why radio has become such a mainstream form of entertainment. If you want to listen to music on the radio, you have plenty of different options. You could simply walk in a store, pick up your favorite MP3 player or buy a portable device like an earphone.
One option that you won't find very often is an actual radio that can be hooked up into your car stereo system. Most people listen to radio during their daily commute. If you want to listen to music while you're stuck in traffic, you'll want to pick out a portable radio that you can plug into your car's stereo system. Although these are more popular for people who listen to radio in their cars, you can also hook them up into your home stereo system if you'd like.
Another option for people who want to listen to music on the radio is through their home's stereo system. You can get a receiver that will allow you to play radio wherever you are. This might be something that you would want to do if you had a portable radio, but there's really no point in buying one if you aren't going to use it. However, it is a great way to save money and make sure that you always have some music playing at home.
You can also choose to listen to radio with your home theater system. Many people have a DVD player at home that they enjoy watching but they often don't want to carry it out with them. If you have a DVD player and want to listen to music on the radio, you can connect it to your TV using an audio cable. It's important that you have a good source of audio so that you don't hear static or muffled sounds. You will also want a high quality antenna so that the picture and sound from your radio station look good when it's being viewed through the TV screen.
Lastly, you can listen to music on the radio by downloading a program onto your computer. These programs are known as satellite radio software and you can find a lot of them on the internet. There are many different types of software programs available to download. Some are simply simple and don't require a lot of user input, while others are very complex and will let you control all of the features on your radio station. They will even let you adjust the volume of the music or talk show on your radio station.
As you can see, there are several ways that you can listen to music on the radio. You will want to consider all of your options before making your final decision. There are many benefits to having your very own radio station, such as being able to choose music and stations that you want to hear. Take some time to decide what your listening preferences are and then find the right program that fits.

I cannot seem to find anything that works. I would like to add the arrows to the top and bottom of the right side scrollbar. I have tried several additions to the .config/GTK-3.0/gtk.css file but none of the suggested entries has done anything. Any way to do this? Thanks
example:
$ head ~/.config/gtk-3.0/gtk.css
*{
-GtkScrollbar-has-backward-stepper: 1;
-GtkScrollbar-has-forward-stepper: 1;
-GtkScrollbar-has-secondary-backward-stepper: 1;

Let's assume you get an error message like the recent Skype MS key change. Simply copy and paste the error into your search bar adding Ubuntu 20 to the end of the string (Linux Lite is currently based on Ubuntu 20).
Code: EXPKEYSIG 1F3045A5DF7587C3 Skype Linux Client Repository <[email protected]> Ubuntu 20 For esoteric hardware errors or packaging/version errors you can also use stack exchange and/or Debian at the end of the string. Software specific to Linux Lite like Lite Tweaks add Linux Lite to the end of the string.

I have 5.4, and after update today 8/10 I get a login box for 'linuxlite'.
I have never seen this login box ever before.
It won't accept my password, the one I used to install these updates.
