When I enter my password, (the correct one) at the logon screen, the Toshiba splash screen appears and then just loops back to the logon screen :banghead I've tried rebooting into recovery mode and so forth, but it's not fixing it. How can I get this reconfigured?

Hi! First time user here, and very impressed. I got to know Linux Lite after it caught my attention while going up on distrowatch.
My first thought was "what a great name! How did nobody think about it until so recently?"
And now that I've tried it, I'm really glad with its performance on my modest laptop and its small footprint (I'm using just a 14G partition, which wasn't enough for Ubuntu 22 btw).
I'm considering it for my parents old laptops. Only one issue though: some options and labels aren't completely translated for our language, including the Lite Welcome window. Maybe I could help with some localization? Don't know if it's possible...
Anyway, congrats for everybody involved on this project!

I purchased a WD 1 tb external hdd and I use it for W7 backups and disc images. How do I partition it so it can be used for Linux Lite snapshots. I dual boot W7hp with LL 5.8. I have files and such from windows on it right now that I don't want to loose. Is it possible to partition some of it for linux.
Thanks
Vint
God Bless Texas

| Suggestion about grub |

As a non-advanced linux user, I always miss an easy grub editing tool out-of-the-box.
Think about it: grub is the first thing we see after installing linux. And in this very first contact, even in Linux Lite, we have to choose between "Ubuntu", "Windows" and other weird options.
And it's not just in the first contact. This is what is shown every single time we turn on the computer.
I know there are already some GUI tools to edit grub available, so why not make use of them as an option on the Control Panel?
A regular "windows user" has never heard about grub, and wouldn't know how to find those tools. Plus, when we google "grub edit", many of the first results are non-friendly command-line instructions.

I've a problem, I've moved from my previous Linux Mint install to Linux Lite 6.0 and I proceeded to configure everything how I like and I was forcibly stopped after changing display scale from 1.0 to custom 1.4. After doing that I was booted out to Lockscreen and when I try to log in it just boots me out to the Lockscreen again. I cannot change the setting even using xrandr command because I can't open terminal on the lockscreen, I don't know where the monitor settings are since I'm new to Linux Lite. I would really like to have display scaled to 1.4 if i can't it's a deal-breaker for me for this distribution.

| Installing LL to Intel Atom laptop |

Hi everyone,
I'd love to try LL on my old laptop, but I need a little help with installation. I'm using a Lenovo Ideapad 100S, with an Intel Atom processor. They're difficult Linux installs. As I understand it, I need to "respin" the ISO to accommodate the way my machine boots (there are instructions at https://linuxiumcomau.blogspot.com/. Simpler instructions for a Lubuntu respin are at https://everythingisamiracleblog.wordpre...00s-11iby/).
I don't fully understand the procedure as described by Linuxium, to be honest, and I don't have a Linux machine available. I _think_ all that needs to be done is to download and run a shell script, with some parameters. I'm hoping that is not burdensome and someone would be willing to "respin" an LL ISO for me (and others using the same processor). You can pick the distro that would be best for a 2016 laptop with 2 GB RAM, perhaps an ISO you've already downloaded.
If what I'm asking for is actually more work than I think, just ignore my message! I'm not trying to get someone to do a lot of work for me.

Hi, is there any way to install Mint-updater in Lite-6.00? There is a tutorial-post about it in here, it worked great in 5.6-8.
Thank you!

I am trying to install LL6.0 on a Dell XPS M1330 Dual Core 64 bit notebook from a Rufus generated flash drive. The install hangs on the Updates & Other Software page. I had LL5.8 on this notebook for the last several months. I tried the install with both boxes checked and with both boxes unchecked with the same result. Please help.
