  Firefox

When in XP i had a number of FF extensions installed; I have done similarly in LL:

I wonder if any/all of these are really needed when using LL - some do seem to slow FF down significantly.

Thanks

  Logitech C200 Webcam
Posted by: El Conguero - 09-25-2014, 08:30 AM - Forum: Other - Replies (7)

Hello Everyone.  This is my first posting and I hope its in the crrect section.  I have installed Linux Lite to replace Win XP and am impressed.  I've installed Skype and the only problem I have is with my Logitech c200 webcam.  The video is "intermittent" and blue in colour when an image appears for short duration.  Is this common with this combination of webcam/Ubuntu 14 that LL is based on?  If there is a solution, please let me know and thanking you in advance.

  Bash Vulnerability and Linux Lite
Posted by: Dookus - 09-25-2014, 05:46 AM - Forum: On Topic - Replies (10)

I just ran the commands on LL2

env X="() { :;} ; echo busted" /bin/sh -c "echo stuff"
env X="() { :;} ; echo busted" bash -c "echo stuff"

and the second command came back with "busted"

Meaning LL is vulnerable

I imagine the patch for this is reliant on Ubuntu developers?

  Cool new site, OS Boxes

Cool new site, OS Boxes.

Instead of downloading a linux distro as an iso you can download a preconfigured virtualbox or vmware image. Pretty cool!

  Network connection problems
Posted by: waynebob - 09-24-2014, 01:02 PM - Forum: Network - Replies (5)

I lost my wifi on my Dell Inspiron 1501 yesterday, fooled around a bit then installed Mint 17 64 bit. No wifi on it and this morning no ethernet either. The Mint and Ubuntu forums are all reporting problems with connectivity due to updates.
Mint 17 Cinnamon is much slower than Linux Lite. Will be reinstalling Lite. Smile

Adding Beryl to the Cubes picture
Posted by: ohjrson - 09-23-2014, 07:05 PM - Forum: Member Submitted Artwork - Replies (4)

You know I was just sitting here and I was thinking that the Cubes wall paper is a great wall paper. I am suggesting that somewhere in that picture, maybe integrated in the cubes and reflections and stuff the words Beryl should be in there too... Is there anyone that can do that? I would like to test it out and see how it looks if someone could do that.

Have a look at what I did, tell me what you think? [Image: 9Of99QX.png]

Something like this but maybe a little more involved.(reflected in the cube etc...)
Thanks.

  Where are podcast files stored?
Posted by: m654321 - 09-23-2014, 06:29 PM - Forum: Sound - No Replies

Where are downloaded podcasts files for media players such as Banshee, Rhythmbox, Clementine, etc stored.
I am quite interested in this, because in a multi-booted set up, I would like to share these files on a shared DATA partition between the operating systems, rather than each OS having to download the podcasts separately.

I assume they are located in one of the 'root' folders (sorry I still talk about folders, as I am a linux newbie from MS Windows) ???

Regards
Mike
