Installing Intel video driver

On a Vista-era machine with an Intel 945G chipset, LL is apparently running generic drivers. Everything seems good, but I would like to know if it is feasible to install the proper Intel drivers. I came across instructions here. What I would like to know is if it hoses the system, how could it be undone in LL? My alternative would be to take a disk image using a boot disk program.
Thanks.

Skype Pop-Up Menu from Panel (Want to see full menu rather than scrolling)

When I left-click on my Skype Icon in the panel (down at the bottom right of the screen), the Skype Popup menu only pops up with about three entries, and the rest have to be scrolled up or down to get to them. This is probably about the most minor question I can think of to ask, but it is mildly irritating to me since there are so many entries in it, and "activate" and "quit", the ones I most frequently use, are at opposite sides of the list.
On another computer I have a KDE install (pclinuxos) where this doesn't occur - the whole menu pops up. Is there anything I can do to get the *full* menu to pop up on left click in Linux Lite?
thanks!

This is more than likely a problem with Firefox and not Linux Light as it appears to be a problem on other O/S.
Firefox had problems with 38 and I was grateful to quickly find that 39 was readily available from the software package manager in LL. Downloaded it and it has been crashing ever since. Tried to fix with ALL their suggestions to no avail. It crashes almost immediately and constantly and is basically unusable. Tried fresh download and if anyone might have a suggestion other than the ones recommended by Firefox I would love to hear them. Using the only alternatives I have left which is Google Chrome which crashes on hulu 30 mimutes into video with regularity (as it does also in opera) as both are based on Chromium and I have to use Epiphany for hulu and other videos.

Wifi auto-connect not working keyring password required

I just ran an install of 2.4 x86 on a Compaq F750, a Vista-era machine. Everything seems very nice, except for some networking weirdness.
As soon as I configured the wifi card, LL prompted me for a Keyring password. This was odd, because I wasn't setting up a network share. I've never run across this before. And as I suspected, every time I boot the keyring password is required, according to the ubuntu(?) bug.
There's a second problem too. The wifi adapter is set to autoconnect, but it doesn't. I have to connect it manually at each boot. Networking is turned on, and the wifi network's credentials are remembered, but connection is not automatic.

ARandR No Longer Autostarting

Hi folks,
A while back I was trying to solve a dual screen layout issue and ARandR was the perfect solution. It has been working wonderful for many months now. However, this morning we had a very short power hiccup......now my ARandR layout will no longer autostart. I have re-opened the app, recreated the layout, saved the layout as screenlayout.sh (just like it was before). Still no luck. I have also removed and recreated the autostart link again within Sessions and Startup.......again no luck getting the layout to work after reboot.
I know the screenlayout.sh file works.....as double clicking causes the screen to switch to the correct layout. Any ideas why I cannot get it to autostart anymore, when it worked fine before????

I noticed that the time it takes for my laptop to boot is much longer then it was just after a fresh install.
In the beginning it booted up quickly but now it takes much longer, at the end of the boot i have to wait several (about 10) seconds with a black screen before i see the desktop and can use the laptop.
Is this normal or is my laptop starting to get old?

Hello!
Tried to install HPLIP this weekend. Wouldn't download the plugin, returning error #8. Turns out the issue is related to HP taking down its driver download servers for maintenance this weekend. They say they'll be back up Monday, but we'll see. I hope so, because I also need drivers for my HP Compaq 6000 desktop. (They sure have great timing, don't they?)
In the meantime, the needed plugin can be found at https://www.openprinting.org/download/pr...P/plugins/.
You will need to right-click on the bottom two links on the page (one at a time), and choose 'Save Link As'. In Setup, when it asks for the plugin to be installed, select 'select and install a local copy' and point it to the directory where you downloaded the two files. More info here:
http://askubuntu.com/questions/649963/hp...p1102w-pri
will tell you where to go and how to install the plugin manually - which is what I'M going to be doing from here on out...

My HP laptop wont charge the battery

I have checked all connections and have booted both in Win7 and In LL but the problem remains. The laptop does not see the power connection and thinks it's not connected. I have switched power cords but no use.
I went online and in trying the many suggestions ( none worked) the battery went flat and now the laptop does not switch on at all. I plugged the power cord in and the orange light flashe a couple of times but does not stay on. I left it overnight but it did not charge ( it was a desperate hope )
Any ideas?
Thanks
