I need assistance with connecting my laptop to the internet via Wifi.
I recently installed Linux Lite on my computor from it's Ubuntu operating system. The wifi would connect properly without problem on it's previous operating, however, I cannot connect to the internet via wifi unless it's through the Ethernet cable.
I ran this command "nmcli d" in the terminal which showed that through the Ethernet, I can access the internet, whilst the wifi status remains unavailable.
I also ran this command "lshw -c network" so that I can figure out the hardware adapter, so that I can update the driver. But, it does not show the hardware name for the wifi adapter.
Any assistance will help me out a lot.

Did anyone else notice during the Winter Olympics opening ceremony there was a brief display of the old Windows 7 multi lingual greeting wallpaper on the giant screen there. Don't know if it was a glitch, or if some kind of weird propaganda ploy, or the show programmers were not very creative, or perhaps Chinese MS software and IT is that much out of date. I know they have their own state approved version of MS Windows so it seems weird that they would choose that wallpaper to be part of the show. Maybe BG conned them into a Buick and they think it's a Ferrari.

Hello new LL 5.6 user here. Trying to switch from Lubuntu to Linux lite for our image we use for company PCs. It is really working very well on our older hardware, but I am running into issues when creating a master image to put on the other hardware and I am not sure where to post my questions. Here are the issues I am running into and if you tell me where to post for help that would be much appreciated.
I set the desktop background to a custom jpg and then create a new image file. Install this image onto another piece of hardware, but the desktop background reverts back to the original Linux-Lite-Wave-and-Rounds-Gradient-Blues-1080p.png. Funny thing is at the login screen it has the correct background, but as soon as I log in with our user it changes the background image.
Another issue I seem to be having is that the screensaver/enable lock screen doesn't seem to be working. It works on the original hardware, but when I put this image on another computer it doesn't seem to lock when it should I did just find another post about a similar issue and will try changing the display blank after minutes to larger than the screensaver timeout.
Thanks,
TBO

Hello Friends,
I'm new to Linux Lite. I read some old posts about virtual keyboards but couldn't find what I wanted. On a Mac or on Ubuntu, one can set virtual keyboards : type with a Spanish layout even if your keyboard is a US QWERTY.
I found the keyboard settings menu, added Spanish but now how do I switch btw native and virtual ?
1. on Mac or Ubuntu I'm used to a little icon (like on Ubuntu or Mac) to switch
2. on Mac or Ubuntu there is a key combination to switch
Any way to do 1 or 2 or both on Linux Lite ?
Thanks

Hello there,
On an old laptop, I recently downloaded and installed Linux Lite. It formerly ran two versions of Peppermi t, but one of them has recently been replaced by Linux Lite.
I'm excited to learn more about the system and will undoubtedly have questions.
Regards,
Zunairah

Hi, I'd never used a Linux operating system before. But I'm sick of Microsoft pushing you to update your operating system every few years and forcing you to use software like Edge instead of Firefox (Who wants Edge instead of Firefox?!). Why? ), their bloated, sluggish "enhanced" image viewing software, and so on.
I'm not going to 'upgrade.' Windows 7 is still my operating system.
I installed Ubuntu Touch on a phone and bought a new (old) laptop to convert to Linux. (I'd prefer to maintain Windows 7 on this computer so that I can keep utilising applications and games.)
I'm really contemplating Linux Lite since I'm looking for something quick and easy. Mostly for browsing the internet and creating novels.
I bought a Lenovo Thinkpad X131e laptop.
Here are the specifications:
AMD Radeon HD 5000 GPU Processor: 2.80 GHz RAM: 8 GB
320 GB SSD hard drive
Is Linux Lite a suitable fit for you?
