Hi everyone!
Complete new user to LL here...

I'm trying to Create System Report (and other things) and I get wrong password...I'm sure I'm typing it right!

Passwords are case sensitive, are you using a mixture of upper/lower case...?

NumLock? Hit the button and see if that's it. You can disable in Lite Tweaks.

changed from Windows 10 to a REAL OS

I checked all that...
I put the lap on hibernation/sleep last night and when I typed my user pass to unlock the system from hibernation mode my pw was accepted...

Isn't the user pw the same for everything?
I want to download software using synaptic manager and my pw doesn't work?

Can anyone tell me what to do?

Hello,

the password is the same for login, terminal, synaptic, updates etc.
If there is more than one user it can be a privileges setting.

Have you tried rebooting the laptop to determine if the issue could be related to some aspect of suspend mode ?

Just did that and it doesn't accept my pw...
This is very strange...
I'm positive I'm typing it right and it worked to unlock from hibernation/sleep but it doesn't work for anything else :(

What should I do?

I've searched around in he help manual and there's a "Resetting your password" protocol in the install tab.
Should I attempt this?
It seems pretty confusing for a newbie like me, with command lines and things I never did...
I'm afraid of messing up...

Ok I think I got it done!
I followed the steps on the help manual and was able reset the pw and put the exact same one LoL!
It seems to be working as I was able to Create System Report and also install Deluge Torrent...

Why do we have to introduce the pw all the time?
Is there a way to remove this?
I don't even have pw on startup as I'm the only user...

Good to read you have reset your password successfully :)

It is so that anyone walking by cannot edit your computer, also to remind its going to root privilege.
