I've tried to add my apps over on the left with the standard apps, as I can do in nearly every other distro I've used. They add to the far right, next to the clock. I can't move them. How do I fix this? I tried to attach a screenshot, but it's 1.7 Mb and the system has a 500 kb limit. This is on a Lenovo T430 laptop running Linux Lite 4.4.

It does this by default. You can right click on the icon, select move, and then position the icon elsewhere on the panel.

Thank you. That worked. It is not intuitive but better that than to hear I can't do it. Any idea why this is the default?

The reason is when adding to the panel, items are added to the bottom of the panel-items list, so they appear on the right.
right-click on a space on the panel, then choose panel and then panel preferences.
there are 3 tabs, Display, Appearance and Items, choose the items tab
the dialog showing should be intuitive, you can reorder anything on the panel where, the top is left and bottom is right.
Have fun :)

Far from intuitive, but I managed to find it. Marked Solved. Thanks for a very good distro, I hope my review in this month's Distrohoppers' Digest does it justice. To be recorded next Wednesday morning.
