Hello, I have installed (with some help from IT friends) linux lite on an eeebox 1501b and I think the system looks excellent and for what I have tested it is smoother (with pdf and browsing) than Lubuntu 18 on the same machine. BUT, I have only 2 Go RAM and have noticed that it takes about 3 minutes to boot. The boot order is correct (HD first), I have applied to recommendation regarding the removal of Virtualbox and saw no difference. I have tried to change the driver from the generic one to the proprietary one (NVIDIA) but same problem, no difference. Apart from the booting time everything is normally fast.
Thanks for any help! please no-geek here, if explanations are given, make it very detailed! ;)

I don't know this command as well as Jerry, but I can see that Virtual Box has not been cleanly uninstalled as you suggested. In fact the first line in your output after the command demonstrates that. Search the forum for a thread called "Removing Virtual Box". [member=47]Scott[/member] has the step by step instructions listed in Reply #1.

Maybe it's just an "upstream" thing, but I wonder why vbox is in there to begin with. I don't think most Linux Lite users even use virtualbox.

But precisely I had removed VM following the instructions in that other thread!
For one line though, I didn't get any reaction (I am sorry but i can't recall which one, service or service- service). I see in Jerry's post that doing it a second time won't hurt so I'll do that and report.

The error was caused by the fact I had not unchecked the autostart option for VM in the settings. Booting time is reduced. Will try to add the "static IP" as suggested by Jerry in the link (but does it go through changing it in the ethernet settings if I use the computer mainly via Wifi?).
