Hi all
I used Linux on and off for some years never really got my head round it so been dipping my toe back in with Linux Lite. Did use Mint for a bit but had driver problems.
Anyway to my question
So now I install new drive trying to format with GParted ext4 but get an error I make new drive a new partition table bsd that works then try as above ext4.
Drive size 160gb I did a search and see it's not a drive size problem ext4 goes up to TB.
Screen shot of error any help welcome

Read how to make LL secure.
See what else Linux Lite can do.
I think X kill is cool :)

Thanks rijnsma I was using the
Attachments and other options bottom of page. :-[
And Thanks gold_finger That worked I did think the MSDOS would be for Win OS as MS = Microsoft.
I can't drag files on to drive I think it's a permissions thing! My next step is to have a Google.
I did get couple files on drive when I open drive, bottom screen shot but don't know how I did that was a bit of clicking about.
Thanks again 8)

Ok -- if just a data partition, then likely just a permissions problem. Info in the second link I referenced should let you solve problem. If you need any help, or if something unclear, post back.

:-[ It's been a few more days and I'm still struggling still.
I rebuilt hoping setup would see drive and formate and set the permissions.
Someone I know said about typing chown in Terminal but I got lost and after reboot old permissions rebooted.
Why Linux so complicated!

Mostly things like these are simple.
But there can be circumstances which make that one has to investigate.
Why change owner? (chown)
Maybe start all over again? :) I have done that more than once. Never give up.
