Looking form the website it directs Ubuntu derivatives to
https://launchpad.net/~stellarium/+archi...m-releases
Which says to add the PPA.. This can be done via command
[color=rgb(51, 51, 51)][/color]
Code:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:stellarium/stellarium-releases
[color=rgb(51, 51, 51)][/color]
[color=rgb(51, 51, 51)][/color]
Do know what PPA's are and their uses and potentials...

There are various stellarium version .deb tar files for download,
https://sourceforge.net/projects/stellarium/files/Stellarium-sources/ just download, extract and right click the file and select the gdebi installer. Thats how I installed Stellarium on LL3.6 but beware if you have older hardware which may not match the required graphics requirements.
On my old computers (they're all old!) only Stellarium 0.11 will run.
Sorry, wrong URL for .deb files, will search later if you are not able to find them.
1) Lenovo T520 i5 LL3.8 8GB ram, fast & stable
2) Medion P4 32bit LL3.8 1GB ram, quite fast & stable
3) eeePC 901 32bit LL3.8 1GB ram, fast & stable
4) eeePC 701 32bit LL3.8 1GB ram, slower & stable but small and light enough to travel with me to New Zealand when visiting family in Blenheim.

You don't need PPA. The package is available in LL 3.6. Open synaptic (install software) in LL and type "stellarium" in the search box. Make sure you're connected to the internet first.
Also you can use Deb packages sometimes. Type "Debian --Package Search" in you browser "= whatever you are looking for." No quoptes.
