Lite Updates Notify
#21

[member=5239]torreydale[/member], what [member=2]Jerry[/member] said  :D

Linux Lite has a simple point and click option that works. That's what goes in our distro and that's what our guidelines requires. I'm doing this on my spare time as a hobby and not because we expect to replace our own solution. Nothing to worry about :)

Thanks, [member=2]Jerry[/member] , for keeping it simple! The mint update system is confusing to me. I rather trust you and whoever else decides what update are needed. I don't even want to mess with kernel updates until they come with the regular updates.

[member=14]Coastie[/member],

For the record, kernel security updates do come with the regular updates in the 3.x series.

Thanks Jerry and Ralphy for keeping the update system as it is.

Never mind. I keep getting this message:

Forbidden You don't have permission to access /forums/linux-lite-software-development/ on this server.

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I'd like to see what you had in reply #17 above. But I'm not going to insist on it.

Nothing important. I was just agreeing with torredale about the kernel updating was what I posted before. The forum was not cooperating  :(

If I put type the at symbol, I get the error message.

It placed an icon in the desktop bar at the bottom of the screen. if there were no updates, it would display an icon with a check mark in it. If there were updates, the icon had an exclamation point in it. And it should remain sticky and always viewable.

[member=6217]humdinger70[/member] I've pushed mintupdate-lite to my server.

New feature coming - report number of kernels installed and recommend removal to free up space:
