This is not a terribly big deal, but lately my HP 3500 printer does not remain in the Enabled state upon rebooting. I'll run a print job, then have to open the Printers dialog and enable the printer almost every first use per session. I've made sure the printer was on and settled before initiating the job, but that changes nothing. Printer is on USB.

I don't know if you have a DesignJet or LaserJet. But this link
http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/release_notes.html shows a newer version of hplip is available over the one in our repository. But the only 3500 that is affected by an hplip version newer than our repository version is the HP DesignJet T3500 36-in Production eMFP.

It's a Deskjet 3510, and I see it's included in that driver since v. 3.12.9. I guess this will have to go on my list, maybe for tomorrow. Thanks torreydale!

O.K,
When I originally had problems, I had a lot of errors, "hp-doctor" cleared them all.
This is my notes from when I ran it, did you make the same choices.??
You will get:
error: This distro (i.e ubuntu xx.xx) is either deprecated or not yet supported.
The diagnosis is limited on unsupported platforms. Do you want to continue?(y=yes, n=no*):
Type “y” and continue.
You may get:
Newer version of HPLIP-3.xx.xx is available.
Press 'y' to continue to upgrade HPLIP-3.yy.yy (y=yes*, n=no):
Type “y” and continue.
You may be told to install HPLIP manually, but it will continue anyway, and check for dependencies.
The next prompts will be:
Do you want to update repository and Install missing/incompatible packages. (a=install all*, c=custom_install, s=skip):
Type “a” and continue.
Found Plugin version mismatch. Press 'y' to re-install the plugin(y=yes*, n=no):
Type “y” and continue.
When you're asked whether to download, specify a path, or quit,
choose the download option by typing “d”.
HP will then ask you to accept the license terms:
Do you accept the license terms for the plug-in (y=yes*, n=no, q=quit) ?
Type "y" if you accept.
hp-doctor will then complete without further prompts.
When complete, exit terminal, re-boot.

I have also encountered the code/tags issue with the font size getting messed up..
I normally select all the text, and resize also.
Also it seems to be throwing in extra line spacing at times..!!

Mine might be now, too. The only way to know is to watch it for a few days. Thanks.

So far I've had two or three successes in a row. Two on cold boots, another after a long period of the printer being off. It's looking like updating and cleaning up the drivers was the key. Thanks guys!
