Unless you take measure to hide your identity.. Most websites have tools to take a look at you.
This information is shared/traded.. I would think it's pretty accurate.

Here are some examples of what they can see about you

They will see your IP, and that IP is registered to an ISP
The ISP will have a record of who was allocated that IP.
So yes, they can ID you... If they want to..

To Monkeyman,

There are other Max, Min, and Close options.  Look into the Window Manager.  Menu, Settings, Window Manager.  You can choose a different theme.  And of course, others can be installed.

I don't want to change themes.  I like this dark theme.  I've been using computers long enough that I know which button is minimize, maximize and close BUT it would still be nice to see the icons.  If someone is fairly new to computers and switches to LL, they might have to think about which button is which.  Like I said, it's a little thing but I'm CDO (that's OCD with the letters in the RIGHT order).

This may be a limitation dependent on the development of the XFCE desktop environment, but I like the panel in Win7 where Quick Launch icons can also become the open windows icons.  Zorin does a good job at mimicking this. 

Currently with our version of XFCE, we can launch an app from the quick launch icon, and then a separate open window indicator appears in the panel.  It would be nice to have them combined.

Man, you guys never rest! It must be a labor of love!

I'm just completing my fifth install. Still very happy, and have a few suggestions.

First, a couple of small problems.

• On every single install, I have had to force the machine down after the install. Every one hung on shutting down. Then everything was fine. No damage done, but a bit disconcerting.
  
• On this netbook I really got caught in a little trap. The root password was incorrect. I finally figured out that Numlock was set, and it was causing the embedded Numpad to activate (in which the "p" key becomes a "*", etc. When I realized this I first thought it was a bios setting, but no, it was a LL preset. Given how critical the root password is, it might be better to keep NumLock off out of the box.
  

Now for some suggestions:

• LibreOffice finally has a really nice icon set, Breeze. I think it would be worth inclusion.
  
• This install was on a 10.1" netbook, and the new Control Center is too big for the screen. I think I found the bottom of it by hiding the Panel, but that is not a good solution, as there are smaller screens than this one.
  
• I can't figure the Synaptic Package Manager out. Out of the box, there is no live search bar, and I have to do most of my procurement without it. But after installing some software the search bar appears. Whatever it is, it would be good to have that search bar from the get-go.
  
• I keep expecting the reminder to install updates on the Welcome Center to actually take me to the install updates function rather than to an explanation of the function. Small matter, I know.
  
• I would suggest the inclusion of CherryTree notes, which I'm liking more than Evernote.
  
• Also, on the game side, AisleRiot might be nice.
  

I also remove Firefox and put on Slimjet, but that's probably a minority position. I also put on Wine, and given that LL is a segue from Windows, I wonder if this would be a good thing to have on board.

Apparently, you lost me.  You can see the 3 little dots in place of min, max, close in the top right corner.

On my latest install I ran into Monkeyman's theme problem as well. It didn't happen on my own machine, perhaps because I installed the gnome theme pack first, and those title bar buttons were retained. But on the new install the dark theme out of the box only has circles for each button, and truthfully I find it a bit annoying. Some windows only have two buttons and so the user has to start counting buttons to figure out what they are. Going to the Window Manager did not solve the problem, though I did add the menu and rollup buttons there.
