Corrections: System Profiler and Benchmark and other programs report I have 4 CPU's. inxi -b says I have Dual core Intel Atom CPU 330. I don't know if I have 4 CPU's or 2 Dual Core CPU's.  :-\  Either way it is 4.

Also 2 GB RAM.  8)

You have 2 physical cores Coastie. It's Hyper-Threading Technology that delivers two processing threads per physical core. Your CPU can run 4 threads on 2 cores at the same time.

Thank you for the suggestion newtusmaximus, however as is mentioned in the first post we have to limit the info displayed to the most essential. If we know the cpu, memory and gpu we can get off to a great start when it comes to Support for video issues, programs that consume memory and performance due to core/thread limitations on cpu's. These 3 relate in some way to many requests for support regarding hardware issues and to a lesser degree, problems with software. Cheers :)

Is there a way that the Hardware Database can become more user friendly. A potential newcomer to Linux is unlikely to know their system components.  They will however know their computer brand and it model number.  Feeding this into the database at the moment is unlikely to help them. i.e if you type Dell for example into the search field you don't get all the dell models loaded coming up for you to scan.
Purpose to help the prospective newcomer  answer the question "Will LL work for me?"  i.e  encourage them to give it a try

Hi Coastie,

Intel have a whole range of CPU's going from 1 core up to I now believe 72 cores.
They also implement on "some" of the CPU's a Technology called Hyper-Threading.
This Hyper-Threading allows 1 core to simulate 2 cores.
In your case, You have 1 Physical "Atom 330" on your board, it contains 2 CPU Cores, and it also as Hyper-Threading
So if you go into Menu > System > Resource usage it should look like you have 4 CPUS, from 1 physical ATOM 330.
Your spec is 1 X ATOM-330

This is from my top PC, 1 X 4 Core CPU with Hyper-Threading, so it looks like 8 CPU's

I would suggest to be able to leave the RAM field empty. I for example have so many machines running with Linux Lite, all with different specifications, that I rather leave it empty.
Currently - if left empty - it shows 256MB, which is confusing to the least.
