My icons dont jump around the screen but everytime i boot the laptop they are in a different order then when i turned the laptop off. No idea why this is.

I did a fresh install on a partition of LL 2.2. and some applications (for testing).
It went fine. I made a decent desktop with some icons here and there (also HD-icons).
But after 24 hours, when I revisited the distro all my HD-icons were on the left.
It looked a little like Ubuntu Unity, which I deeply don't like. So I don't win a thing. Let me think again...
(No problem. :D In the meantime I use Mint Qiana (flawlessly) and PCLOS also very nice.
I also have SolydX. Very stable and the forum very helpfull.)

I've been using these commands to lock/unlock them which so far has worked ok.
Put them where I wanted and used - sudo chattr +i ~/.config/xfce4/desktop/icons*
Any new ones will still be placed top left and can be moved around but after a restart or Desktop refresh (F5) they will jump back to the top left position until I run - sudo chattr -i ~/.config/xfce4/desktop/icons* to unlock them.
Once unlocked drag them to where I want & run - sudo chattr +i ~/.config/xfce4/desktop/icons* again and then they stay where they should with a refresh or restart.
I even tried turning off the Desktop icons altogether (Icons tab of Desktop settings) and just made a panel launcher to expand all the Desktop icons but discovered the Desktop right-click menu completely changes with the icons turned off & while it was ok to use the Desktop stuff from an expanding launcher I didn't like the resulting right-click menu options at all, all the 'Create' options are gone...

Icons on the desktop must always be steady until the user moves them.
In the past Gnome has had some problem with it on the panels. But that was patched.
Lxde in Wattos has had the problem. And it was corrected.
Most of the time I never experienced else than steady icons as long as I see desktops
(About 30 years now. Great tool.)
If not: something is not right as far as I can see and then I can't trust the building.
Other distro's can do things right. :D

This problem is not Linux Lite specific it is a bug in Xfce as can be found on their forum.

It appears the bug was reported as far back as 2012.

And certainly: it happens often with the updating of software.
Further is LL2.2 a fine distro (like version 2.)
21/2/'15 I have also seen it in Makulu Xfce.
