OS 1 is Zorin installed on Patriot P220
OS 2 is Linux Lite installed on WDS500G3X0C
Source drive is a WD40EZRZ called Storage
Destination drive is some form of USB drive used as fifth disk,
A selection of folders on the Source drive are used as the test data.

Some things need clarification.
Please confirm grsync version in both environments. (Open grsync, click 'Help' then 'About')
grsync options like compression, check summing etc have significant performance impacts.  Please check and confirm all grsync options are exactly the same in both environments.
Please confirm exactly the same selection of source folders are used in both tests.
Please confirm that the contents of the selection of folders is fixed throughout and approximately how  many bytes need to be transferred from source to destination
Please confirm the same fifth disk is used in both tests and that you are sure the destination fifth disk is always manually cleared before each grsync run.  .
I should add, grsync was downloaded from Lite Software, and from Zorin repository. It is not available on Flatpak.

I am now finished testing Linux Lite. I learned a few things. My conclusions:

LL will not use Zorin Grsync settings without corrupting. Deleting and recreating also corrupted.
Gnucash data can migrate but not the saved reports.
Audacious playlists do not migrate.

XFCE on two different systems are not necessarily compatible.

LL is simple to install but not to migrate to, unless you have a lot of time.

Thank you very much for your help.

I never had a full understanding of what you were doing and the problem(s) you were having so I don't think I can have helped but it was interesting.
