Yes, was 18.1, hence my capital letters for a 1.9GB iso, for not a lot of software AND redownloads everything.

I tried Manjaro a couple of years ago and din't like it; several and continuing issues with a Nvidia onboard graphics card, that been said I haven't tried it with this radeon gpu, by that time the fan of the radeon card failed and it took me a while to get a replacement one. Maybe I try it again in a VM :)

I prefer to go with the "Economic Family Sedan" in Linux. I not looking for an Exotic Car, a Sport Car, a truck or RV, just something reliable that works for everyone. Thats doesnt mean that I don't like to work in the garage but I want the choice to be there went I want to, not because I have to. Of course I also like to brag and show off my shiny DeepinOS to the guys once in awhile. ;)

Why so Linux? : I don't often but I used my Surface(1) this weekend. I hate the thing! Not the Hardware, the software. *AGAIN*, when I turned it on, it began updating, even if I previously DISABLED the windows updates service. And not the standard updates either, it downloaded AND installed the Microsoft Upgrade Installer, without consent. I had to force stop the program uninstall it. Stop and disable the update "service" again. And deleted all leftover files, 100s of MBs. I DON'T want updates for "performance" or security, the tablet is already slow and full as it is, and, if it gets hacked and trashed, I will laugh and have a reason to buy a GalaxyTab S2. Still, it's a nice reminder why I'm more and more in Linux. :-S

Oi!

I tried the latest Peppermint8 Respin2 this weekend (32bits).
It's an LXDE + XFCE hybrid, with a whisker menu ;)
Theres a bunch of apps I have to install *but* I did a double-take when I booted this latest release, memory usage is at 121MB on live boot!!!! (and more !'s ).
Once installed on hard drive and update, the final count is 141MB ... waaaa!

The interface/icon set is meh for me and I didn't find a way to put desktop icons (yet?) since it's LXDE. It's my first VirtualBox VM too, woot!
There's a bunch of apps that are web-based, which I hate so I removed a few even if it's a "feature" of PeppermintOS.
I doubt this distro will have other uses for me than installing on ancestral PC's but still, once I put LibreOffice and al, I'll report back.

Peppermint 8 was the distro I was on before jumping into LL, and before I was using debian "Jessie", and before CentOS 7. I really liked Peppermint but for some reason one day I started to face some issues with it, not sure why but I'm most certain it was my fault lol
