Could you steer me to the Firefox fix you mention? Every linux distro I've tried based on 14.04 LTS, save PeachOSI, refuses to install a working Firefox, simply freezes the system forcing a hard shutdown. Lite is no exception so I remain firmly affixed to 1.0.6 LTS as my main squeeze (until 2017 that is). I did notice that if I went into the file system Applications folder I could open FF as administrator, but it wouldn't last and would go back to freezing the screen later.
