AMD vs NVIDIA proprietary drivers performance?

So what's the situation on the performance between AMD and NVIDIA with proprietary drivers?
I've heard that NVIDIA drivers are better on GNU/Linux than AMD drivers. (In performance etc...) But these were years old articles. So what's the situation in 2015? Are the AMD drivers on par with NVIDIA drivers now? Or are AMD drivers getting better atleast?
Thanks.

Some keyboard character keys in wrong place after upgrade to 2.6 - how to fix?

Following updating to LL2.6, in my UEFI win8.1/LL2.4 dual-boot, the @ and " keys are reversed, and other keyboard characters are not where they should be, though the letter & numeral keys seem to work fine as before. I've checked the Language settings (i.e. English, UK) and Keyboard settings (i.e. set to Asus Laptop), but these seem to be as before. I'm perplexed...
Any help on this one is much appreciated...
Regards
Mike

OneTouch 8100 scanner not recognized...

Hi,
I am trying to get a OneTouch 8100 scanner working with LL but when I try using the Scanner app it just says "scanner not recognized". I also tried GIMP to see if that would be able to use the scanner but nothing comes up in the "create menu".
Not sure what else to do, is there someone here who knows of some things I can try ?
Yes, I know, the scanner is old but the thing has never been used, seems a shame to throw it away.
If you have any ideas or feedback, please let me know.
Thanks,
Glin22

Keyboard Not find By Linux Lite with repect to Lenovo 3000 n100 and Eeepc

Hi Valtam, The two lap tops I was working on have had the latest version Linux Lite
Installed. In the end I opted for a simple pass word and went though up dates to resolve keyboard issues and let the system sort its self out . Note using a numerical password gets around alpha board issues with spelling. So up shot is it loads successfully to an Asus EEEPC And a Lenovo 3000 n100 just fine.
Now with 2.6 install
Hi all, the Lite Control Center Works well in 2.6 lite , 2.6 is better than two point four, the only problem I found is when I tried to loaded it to my lenovo lap top it could not see the AT 2 translated key board and failed it. Thats even after fully loading it to see weather it would discover and change it.
It makes me more fascinated when the info collected on my machine states what it is, but the OS fails. So went back to Zorin which works every time on laptops. It is so critical being able to use a keyboard that this failure is catastrophic to say the least. I also tried it on a Eeepc it failed that too.
Don't get me wrong I like to Linux lite 2.6 OS and wish to put it on all machines but just seems there is now way to tell it please pick this AT 2 translated key board and it gives tunes of other keyboard types. Linux lite is intuitive and nice ,even to the point of being more helpful than others. I'm disappointed it doesn't and not for the lack of trying.
One other thing I found when trying to load 2.4 back on it wont get it correct either on either machine and on the Eeepc the screen kept going blank ,weather at start up or not. I found screen blanking and stopped that. It must leave something behind on the drive for both not to work so went back to Zorin to over write drive, My thoughts are that sometimes new install aren't always new just right on over it seeing files which it thinks is the new version but isn't. Maybe a really old Linux on hand to wipe out any stuff left behind. May even go back to formating drive from bios then loading and os.

Accidental Deletion of Workspaces - how do I restore them?

I had created 4 additional desktops, using the Workspaces application under Menu.
Instead of reducing the number of desktops from 4 to 3, using the Workspaces application,
I right-clicked, accidentally, on one of them in the panel, and all 4 desktop launchers then disappeared
from the panel.
How do I get them back?
In Workspaces, it still indicates that I have 4 desktops.
Thanks for any help on this one
Regards
Mike

For me, easily the coolest terminal I've ever tried. It does pull in a lot of QT bloat, so just be aware of that.
Code: sudo apt-get install build-essential qmlscene qt5-qmake qt5-default qtdeclarative5-dev qtdeclarative5-controls-plugin qtdeclarative5-qtquick2-plugin libqt5qml-graphicaleffects qtdeclarative5-dialogs-plugin qtdeclarative5-localstorage-plugin qtdeclarative5-window-plugin git
# Get it from GitHub
Code: git clone --recursive https://github.com/Swordfish90/cool-retro-term.git
# Build it
# Compile
# Have fun!
