Dropbox panel indicator disappears when laptop lid closes and reopens
Posted by: torreydale - 09-28-2015, 03:31 PM - Forum: Other - Replies (9)

My Dropbox panel indicator disappears whenever I close and reopen the laptop lid.  Nothing is set to suspend or hibernate when the lid closes.  I created a launcher to refresh the panel when this occurs.  The command I use for the launcher is lxterminal -e "xfce4-panel -r".  I'll continue to use this as a workaround, and I'm passing it along in case others have the issue.

  No printer icon
Posted by: jola - 09-28-2015, 01:58 AM - Forum: Other - Replies (1)

I can't find my printer icon. I looked in the system menu, nothing, & I don't know how to do it via the command line. I've also tried a general search for "printer" & nothing.
Thanks for any help.

[SOLVED] High CPU load when viewing LL forums.
Posted by: justme2 - 09-27-2015, 07:36 PM - Forum: On Topic - Replies (24)

Running LL2.6.
When viewing the forums anonymously (with the dark theme), my cpu runs hot, cycling between 5% up to 100% CPU usage and the fan runs fast with either Firefox or Chrome browsers. The PC behaves like a fan heater! When I log in, I use the lighter Curve theme as my default and the CPU usage drops to around 15% to 20%. The PC runs cooler and the fan slows down. Other websites seem to run at around 5% CPU, so what is going on in the LL forum and does anyone else have this problem or know the cause or cure?

Edit: High CPU load seems to occur when viewing the forum home page.

Laptop suspends instead of shutting down in Linux Lite 2.6 64bit
Posted by: vaikus84 - 09-27-2015, 04:03 PM - Forum: Other - Replies (5)

Hello Devs and more knowledgeable Users

Having an issue regarding Laptop compatibility.
Mostly I use a (Lenovo T430 miniDP to DP connected) external screen so therefore I have set XFCE power manager to not do anything when the lid is closed (a cheap mans dock replacement Smile ).

So the issue here is since I use my Laptop with the Lid closed and do a Shutdown via the Whisker menu button and then click Shutdown,
it seems to sometimes suspend instead of shutting down the Laptop.

Has someone figured out a way to correct that behavior?

Since this is my only means of using a computer system (no need to burn that 14" display screen unnecessarily). It would be nice to have a fix for it.

Thank you in advance,
vaikus84
