This is a great distro. Nicely done. Thanks to all of you who put it all together.

I was going to just forget about this as everything seems to be working fine now and has been for a couple of days now.

This began on Feb 17ish and the wifi on my Aspire One intel atom N450 1.66 was disconnecting and then later reconnecting all night. I thought to myself wtf not this thing again.

I went to Google and found a few solved solution but nothing was working. As a matter of fact it only was a problem when downloading files. The wifi would quit and come back to set the download to fail.

I was going to make a post here on the 18 but it seemed to of fixed what ever was the problem.

The reason why I'm posting this now is I'm wondering if upstream they may have made a mistake and during one of my updates I may have downloaded something only to have it get fixed on a later update. I have not done anything since and it has been corrected.

Anyone else found this happening to their computer? Has something like this ever happen before?

With help from gold_finger and others I have successfully installed Linux Lite and Linux Mint, each in its own partition, alongside Windows 7 on my laptop - using EasyBCD to keep the original Windows MBR intact and with each Linux distro's Grub in the same partition as its OS.  It all works fine.

Again with the help of gold_finger's guidance in this thread,  I also set up a shared DATA partition which Lite, Mint, and any other distros could use.  It is located at /mnt/DATA.  I used "chown" to ensure that my username was the owner.  Then in each of both Linux Lite and Linux Mint I deleted the Docs/Pics/etc folders which were in the /home area, created folders with those names in the DATA partition, went into the terminal and used the command

I can only see New Document, New Spreadsheet, New Presentation via Menu, Office. How can I get the entire LO Apps on my dtop or in the menu list. SM shows them as installed but I don't see them in the Menu.

I do need to use Base.

The Lite Control Center will no longer start on my machine. 
This is a new issue and the control center has worked for me in the past. 
I tried reinstalling through synaptic with no success. 

When run in terminal I get the following message:

Did I accidentally remove a gtk lib? Which one?  How to restore it?

A moment of your time please, good folks at Lite.

Just  a few months into Lite and still finding my way around. I haven't been on this computer in a couple of weeks and went to install updates and got this error message: Refer to /var/log/llupdates.log for more information Is this anything serious that I should be concerned about or can I just try updating again?

The thread here seems to sum up my problem, but since it's marked Solved I thought I'd better start a new thread.

I use Slimjet as my default browser. It is a chromium derivative installed via a 64 bit .deb package. It runs great, but I have had this problem since Day One.

I make Slimjet the default browser from within its interface. But when I try to access a web page from another program, I have to specify the default browser, as it says none is set. I set it to Flashpeak Slimjet, and it then works fine. But the next time I open Slimjet it asks me whether I want to make it the default browser, which it already should be. It seems that Slimjet is fighting the system for default browser rights.

I went to Lite Tweaks to set SJ as default browser at the system level, but now the only choices it offers are firefox, chrome and chromium. I would swear that Flashpeak Slimjet was listed there under LL 2.6, but it's not there now. What's more, Chrome is not on the system.

I tried to see if this is a chromium or LL problem by making Firefox the default browser, but doing so didn't stop Slimjet from being the target browser for system calls. Maybe I needed to reboot?

Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi All, recently I lost the hard-drive that I had installed LL on, and have just purchased a 3Tb drive to replace it. I was very impressed with LL2.8 (except the Grub default 'arrogance' )
Now I want to put at least three distros on the drive to evaluate them (At this stage I don't want to use a virtual machine....sorry)
Earlier I had success with the latest Korora 23 but had to use the 'tedious' Anaconda installer, and permitted it to create it's own partitions (...as I had no success with the ones that I'd created with Gparted)
Now I have  'Biosboot', Boot and LVM partitions and 2.58 Tb unallocated space., if I want to add an LL installation, should I create fresh partition (ext4 or LVM with Gparted?) or use the installer partition tool? Before I commence I would love to get some 'expert-advice' and opinions.

Greetings, all.  I've been experimenting with mplayer for my notebook computer multimedia needs.  For a while now I've been using it for the back end of SMTube, and it uses far less CPU that using a browser.

I've also successfully used mplayer to directly stream two Wisconsin Public Radio channels, but relating to this I have:

Question #1:  Why do I need to use the -playlist option to successfully use these radio streams?  I'm not using a playlist, but if I leave the option out and only use mplayer <stream name> instead of mplayer -playlist <stream name> I get nothing.  The streams are of type http://*.m3u.  I could not find much in the man page on this.

After much searching on the internet I was able to copy old (5 years ago) command line code to receive an Al Jazeera tv stream using rtmp output piped to mplayer.  However, that's about the only working example I could find, which leads to:

Question #2.  Does anyone have references or links that would help me find more current live tv streams to view, especially of type rtmp?  I've seen some stuff on using wireshark to dig out info from a browser playing the stream, but I was hoping for an easier way.
