Looking for something that will let me edit tag info manually on an entire folder of files. All I have that even comes close is Music Brainz, but it doesn't do this. Just need to be able to change/add title, artist, whatever to a whole folder of files. I did a folder manually just now via the Properties tab but what a pain that was; sixteen files, one at a time.

I have been working my way through the above modules. Which I might say has been very helpful so far.
There is a couple points of interest I thought, that I might mention here, if I may.
1. Linux is Not Windows
2. Snaps on Ubuntu
1. I came across the last item in the list of modules and links, "Linux is Not Windows"
good read, and takes away any pre concieved ideas, or thoughts one might of had about the Linux. It clearly tells you what it is not and what it could be.
Really good stuff, and my thoughts for that topic, I think should be the very first thing one reads before they do anything else before or after an install. I would have loved this to be the first module I read from that link, not the last.
As a new user , it just gives you a background into what you are about to embark on, so rather be at the end of these modules, it needs to be in the beginning, as that is where my ideas of what I think need to be set aside. And look at it from a different perspective. Instead of thinking, this should be just like Windows, remembering newbies do not know any thing, and it would clearly and concisely put them in the picture.
Just a thought!
2. Snaps on Ubuntu
Now any newbie who sees Snaps on Ubuntu as a head line, is not thinking Linux, but rather the mind goes straight to snap on tools lol.
So one quickly grabs the article and starts reading, and see' that it is a bit like a snap on tool.
My question is though, when reading the article, and how that the snap command and the snap file installation process packages, are a little more user friendly, but come at a cost of larger files taking up larger chunks of hard drive space, less support for older machines. It also appears to not have the same theme through out, and it is not always official.
From what I have read and one of the reasons I moved to Linux Lite, was to have continuity, ease (once you get the hang of it) of use, clarity, and official cohesion through out the releases. Better use of hardware and processes.
The question begs to be asked then! Why would one want to go down the Snaps road?
I do understand that it is a choice, if you like it, try it, if not then don't, but are the creators of Linux Lite looking at it in the future?
H
Linux Lite 5.0 installed the other week, and I see Snap is part of the setup now, guess I answered my own question Huh!

Today i got my hands on an ASUS X540L for a couple of minutes and i booted from live USB to Linux Lite 5.0 RC1 using UEFI. Wi-Fi and brightness control worked fine and everything else seemed to do so. I couldn't use it very much to see the performance and to give full feedback,i only got a hardware report but nonetheless i decided to share it.

Hi all.
My LL 4.8 still works perfect, and I'm very pleased with same.
However, I wonder if someone can assist with following: I recently installed Spotify from Lite Software. After logged in to Spotify, a window popped up and requested password for the Standard Keyring? I have not seen this before, and my question is if I should use my login password or leave it blank?
Thanks for all feedback.

| TTY The Virtual Terminal |

Greetings Folks,
I am just going through the lessons for beginners from a link I got here.
It is run by Gurru99, and this guy explains things really nicely and clearly for absolute new biginners trying to learn and understand some of the basics.
I completed several modules from him. The One last night though, did throw me into a spin. It was using teh Virtual Terminal. the Ctrl Alt F1 command brought up the terminal and instead of seeing the tty1 and login details all I got was a blinking cursor.
No matter what I keyed nothing worked, and so not realising that all I had to do was ctrl alt F7 to come back to this terminal, I ctrl alt del and rebooted and of course lost a couple of hours of note taking that I was doing as I was going through Gurru99's lessons.
I now know that I should have just gone to the F7 workspace, and all would be fine.
However, I do have a question if I may?
The crtl alt F2-7 works a treat, however F1 just gives me the blinking cursor. Gurru99 does not mention it any where, and I can not seem to find any info on this.
So my question to you experienced folk is, is the blinking cursor on the termianl F1 meant to be a like that in this Distibution of Lite, or is there something a miss?
I do understand I can just use F2-6 but it just bothers me that if something should be working, then why is it not?
For others who might read this and are new to Linux, and moved from the Windows, might I say that the lessons from Gurru99 are clear, concise and very helpfull, and you can find them here
https://www.guru99.com/unix-linux-tutorial.html
Love this install of Linux Lite 4.8 and am really enjoying the learning curve. When I teach folk, I always say that there is no such thing as a stupid question, just a stupid mistake because you did not ask the question in the first place, lol.
I feel the same applies here, and thank the responders.
Appreciate any pointers on the question, and thanks in anticipation.
regards
H

HI,
I just downloaded Linux Lite 5.0 RC1 over 4.8. Everything runs fine, except when I went to set up my wireless network printer, I get "there was an error during the CUPS operation server error internal error". When I go to add a printer, it sees my printer in the network section, I choose it, but at the end it says that error. At the first try, it said it would set the firewall for me for it to work, but I wonder if it did. Help. What should I do? In past, I've had no problem setting up my printer.
