Issue : h.264 hardware decode does not seem to be working.
Driver : Nvidia 340.108 recommended driver from the tools.
CPU : T9500 2.6 ghz
Memory 6 Gb.
I would like to use the hardware decoding built into the video card. Everything I have read states that this card supports it.
However when I run steam remote play I see its on dedicated software decode.
When I run firefox I see software decode on youtube videos.
Any application I have seems to be running in software mode. I have tried installing libva packages but no luck.
Does anyone have any hints on how to get this to kick in properly?

Bonjour,
Merci d'avance !

Hi
Just tried to download and install updates but got the following:
===========================
Install Updates Error log
===========================
Install Updates could not successfully download and install available updates.
Go to https://dfgkh547-jsdfv8.iyhkj.tk/forums/ and paste the log below into a new or existing thread for assistance.
============ Log ===========
E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem.
... should I just enter "dpkg --configure -a" into the terminal emulator, or is that just tooo obvious?
TIA!

Installation bug with luks lvm: missing cryptsetup-initramfs package in RC 6.0

Hello, I tried to install Linux Lite 6.0 RC1 with LVM and luks encryption enabled, but when I first started it, it dropped to a initramfs prompt instead of prompting for the password to decrypt the luks partition.
Then I checked if initramfs was including the dm-crypt.ko module, but found out it was missing.
In the end I realized the package cryptsetup-initramfs was missing from the distribution, and in order to fix the issue I had to launch the live iso, then manually mount the encrypted root partition and chroot into it, and finally install the package cryptsetup-initramfs manually.
So please check if the package cryptsetup-initramfs is included on installation.

Bluetooth Disconnects, then Fails to Reconnect

Hey, everyone.
I'm very new to Linux in general and forums as well, so if I'm going to make a lot of mistakes here, haha.
Anyway, I'm going to attempt to be more specific about my issue.
Basically, upon a fresh installation of Linux Lite 5.8, and kernel version 5.4.0-109-generic.
My goal here was to connect my bluetooth keyboard and bluetooth mouse to my linux system and generally stay connected for continuous use, but what ends up happening is that upon a fresh install of this linux version, I can identify, connect to, select as a trusted device, and pair my mouse just fine. Then the keyboard appears and lets me connect, trust, but not pair. This usually manages to work for a while, but when I restart the pc, the mouse remains connected and functional, but I have to reconnect the keyboard. This also remains working for a while, but my bluetooth manager crashes and I lose all control over my bluetooth devices. When this happens, I either a) cannot even open the bluetooth manager; it acts as if it will open, but then stays frozen, which linux then offers to force close it, or b) I can open the manager, see my devices to connect to, but I cannot pair nor connect to them. A pairing failed message will appear when trying to pair and a Connection Failed: Connection timed out appears when trying to connect. However, sometimes the connection message changes and says a different reasoning for the failure to connect.
This seems to be my bluetooth device:
Bus 003 Device 002: ID 0a5c:21e8 Broadcom Corp. BCM20702A0 Bluetooth 4.0
When I use the command (below) in the terminal, this is what pops up. I see an error and then something about unknown packets and corruption handles.

Its about a question that appeared on #ubuntu:matrix.org
Why are templates on "right click -> create document" empty? New users get pretty confused with this. Maybe there could be added some basic templates for .txt .odf and etc at least.

Howdy,
The last update to Thunderbird mail on Linux Lite changed the time format to military time, though I've been on the Thunderbird help forum and there are only a couple of threads on the subject. I've followed the directions given but still end up with military time, my LL OS is set to civilian time central United States so I don't think that is the issue, has anyone else encountered this problem and if so know a fix?
best regards,
Vint

Trying to get Librewolf to be the default browser...

I have Librewolf installed in a flatpak. It wasn't asking to be the default browser. I went into config:about and changed a setting there, so now it asks every time it opens, if I want it to be the default browser. I click yes. But when I click on a link, Firefox jumps into action. I looked in the settings, and it says Firefox is my default browser. There's no place to uncheck that setting.
I went to the preferred apps, and put Librewolf in as the default and saved it. It didn't make any difference.
I'm using Linux-lite 5.8.
