The screen resolution is ok, but scrolling websites isnt that good, its stuttering like mad.
but it has to do for now, no idea how to get that fixed and a new or second hand laptop is an illusion for the next year.

Laptop has only 2gb memory, i tried the 4gb of old laptop..same memory but bios only sees 2gb

The lspci -vvv is not showing what kernel module you are using....did you forget to show it?

Leaping ahead...your xorg is using sismedia but I don't see that in your lsmod output. I am still not a sis expert but maybe you can try each in turn of the sis ones to see if they fix your stutter etc

I have absolutely no idea what i need to do with the 3 you mentioned.
Thanks for your time to help me. I will try the first driver i used to see if that is any better, if not then i am out of my knowlegde about this.

I installed LL2.8 64 bits and I used the answer Misko gave and now have the resolution set to 1280x768 in this topic

Looks like all is just working a bit smoother now, scrolling webpages is smoother now. Going to leave it for now and start saving for a new laptop.
